Job Description
A well-established, award-winning RCVS-accredited small animal veterinary practice in Walsall, West Midlands is recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon to join its expanding clinical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon seeking a supportive working environment with strong clinical standards, modern facilities, and opportunities for ongoing professional development. The practice combines first-opinion veterinary care with access to referral-level diagnostics, offering a varied and interesting caseload.

A major practice expansion is planned for 2026, including:
• Laparoscopic surgical theatres
• Dedicated dental suite
• Orthopaedic theatre
Facilities & Equipment
• Advanced anaesthesia and patient monitoring
• Mechanical ventilation
• Endoscopy and minimally invasive diagnostic equipment
• Strong focus on patient safety and evidence-based medicine
The Role
• 4-day working week
• No out-of-hours or on-call
• 1:4 Saturday rota (short mornings only)
• One protected theatre list per week with structured supervision
• Mixed caseload including first-opinion small animal work and referral diagnostics
• Role suitable for vets at different career stages, with tailored clinical support
Candidate Requirements
• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Minimum 1 year post-graduate experience
• VetGDP completed or equivalent
• Confident with routine small animal GP consultations and procedures
• Interest in developing surgical, diagnostic, and anaesthetic skills
• Team-oriented with a positive approach to clinical practice
