Summary

Groundworker Required (Gateshead)

Project Type: Industrial Extension / Commercial Civils

Location: Gateshead (NE10/NE11 area)

Rate: £20.00 per hour (CIS)

Start Date: Monday

Duration: 2 weeks

The Role:

We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Groundworker to join a team delivering a high-profile factory extension in Gateshead. The project involves a mix of heavy civils and finishing works, transitioning from bulk excavations into foundations and service installation.

This is a great opportunity for a local operative to secure a solid run of work on a busy industrial site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foundations & Footings: Digging out and pouring concrete for structural foundations and retaining walls.

  • Drainage: Installing new industrial-spec drainage systems and connecting to existing factory services.

  • Slab Preparation: Helping with the preparation for large-scale concrete floor pours (shuttering, rebar, and hardcore).

  • Services & Ducting: Laying utility ducts for power, water, and comms to the new extension.

  • Finishing Works: Kerbing, edging, and preparing external hardstandings/loading bays.

Requirements:
  • Valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker card preferred).

  • Essential: Proven experience in industrial or commercial groundworks (factory/warehouse projects).

  • Advantageous: Forward Tipping Dumper (CPCS/NPORS) or Roller ticket.

  • Local Knowledge: Based in Gateshead, Newcastle, or surrounding areas for an easy commute.

  • Strong commitment to site safety and reliable attendance.
