To support and develop Occupational therapy provision as part of adult eating disorder provision. To provide a high standard of clinical care ensuring safe and effective assessment, treatment and comprehensive discharge planning using advanced clinical reasoning skills and appropriate assessment tools. To provide timely assessment of a clients mental health difficulties impact upon their occupational areas and performance. This will include a balance of both generic and specific Occupational Therapy work. To apply specialist clinical knowledge and skills to carry out occupational/vocational/sensory assessments and one-to-one and group interventions. To oversee the co-ordination and delivery of the AEDS enhanced community support pathway, which is designed to support those requiring a more intensive level of support and where appropriate, to prevent the admission to hospital or promote earlier discharge. To delegate aspects of the patient treatment plan to other members of the team, whilst maintaining overall responsibility for patients mental health care, where appropriate. To independently assess clients mental state and identify any significant risk factors, To promote the empowerment and education of clients in relation to their holistic health. This focuses on social inclusion, health promotion and relapse prevention. To define and prioritise needs of clients using a needs led, client centred approach. To promote OT within both the service and the wider community to staff and clients. To be involved in planning and initiating a therapy programme in collaboration with other professionals, geared to the clients needs. To prioritise clinical workload as necessary according to individual clients needs and the standards of the service. To manage difficult clinical situations.
