Summary

>Join our friendly and experienced horticultural growing team running one of the largest bedding plant nurseries in the UK
>Weekend working needed on a rota basis
What does the role generally require and include:
-We operate large glasshouse nurseries growing plants from seedlings and cuttings to finished flowering bedding plants
-Working alongside our experienced nursery production management team, you will be physically working and helping in the manual processes of producing the plants on an automated production line, growing on these garden plants to a saleable size, then involved in the picking, packing and dispatch process for transporting these plants to our garden centres
-Applicants need to be physically fit, able to lift and carry, and enjoy the physical processes of working in a garden plant nursery environment growing plants to flower.
-Applicants with experience of horticulture, growing, farming, labouring most welcome to apply.
-Applicants with additional practical, mechanical, building or DIY skills that may be of use on a huge horticultural glasshouse nursery most welcome to apply
-The nursery operates on a seven day a week basis so periodical weekend and late night support might be needed during peak trading months

We employ between 85 to 125 employees when at peak trading. Established since 1959 our company operates profit share schemes and bonus schemes by invitation for employee’s. The company plans to continue to expand and so we are recruiting for new full time positions.
Role specifics – Full in-house training provided:
*Assisting with automated production process of £3 million of garden plants
*Assisting in pricing and dispatch of £4 million of European Garden Plants arriving weekly
*Assisting with growing procedures like watering, spacing, pinching back, spraying and general plant care
*General nursery labouring, lifting and carrying working on your feet all day
*Other roles to assist with holiday cover
Skills required for this role are:
*Attention to detail
*Good organisational skills
*Friendly and amenable personality looking to help
*Ability to work within a team
*Ability to time manage and prioritise
Employment Specifics:
>The role would require applicants to work Monday to Sunday on a rota basis
>Occasional retail shop floor support requested at key trading periods throughout the year – flexibility to help is an advantage
>We can offer flexibility to work 28 hours to 45 hours per week – exact working hours to be agreed at interview
>Holiday is pro rata based on hours worked – approx. 28 days
>The role will be supported by full on-site training by our experienced head office team
