Summary
About The Team:
School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences.
The first new School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland for 150 years.
Our vision for the SRUC School of Veterinary and Biosciences is to provide a sustainable, resilient foundation for clinical excellence to support the animals and communities at the heart of Scotland’s Natural Economy.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking dynamic and highly motivated individuals to join our innovative School and deliver excellence in teaching and research. You will play a key role in inspiring the next generation of veterinary professionals through our flagship BVSci programme and allied health programmes.
As part of our growing team, you will contribute to a vibrant academic community, collaborate with leading experts, and have access to outstanding facilities that support cutting-edge clinical practice and research.
Current Opportunities:
Veterinary Lecturer positions are available in the following clinical areas:
- Equine Clinical Practice
- Veterinary Surgery
- Anaesthesia and Analgesia
Candidates will have extensive knowledge of the specified clinical subject areas to support veterinary teaching through lectures, tutorials, workshops, and practical classes. We are particularly interested in individuals with additional qualifications such as CertAVP, who have a keen interest in helping design and develop teaching alongside other subject experts. Your background should be primarily in first opinion practice to support the School’s mission. While it is not essential to have extensive experience across all domestic species, a willingness to design and deliver teaching with multiple species in mind is important.
In this role, you will develop and deliver high-quality teaching and scholarly outcomes as a member of the wider veterinary medicine teaching and research team. The successful candidate will be based at SRUC’s Aberdeen Campus, contributing to a vibrant academic community committed to innovation and impact.
It is expected that lecturers will have experience of scholarly and stakeholder/sector engagement activities evidenced through impactful publications and other outputs.
