All MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

Are you an enthusiastic and self‑motivated radiographer looking to develop your career within a dynamic and expanding imaging service? Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) is growing rapidly, and this is an exciting opportunity to join us at a time of significant investment and innovation.

MKUH operates across three sites, including our Community Diagnostic Centres, and we are preparing to open a brand‑new scanning centre in Spring 2026.

Our imaging department continues to evolve, with modern equipment supporting CT, MRI, ultrasound, DEXA, mammography, general X‑ray, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology and our recently installed Cath Lab. Milton Keynes is the largest city in Buckinghamshire, just 50 miles from London, and is known for its excellent transport links and exceptional green spaces, with a quarter of the city made up of parkland and woodland.

In this role, you will be part of a friendly and supportive team committed to delivering a high quality diagnostic service and excellent patient care in line with our Trust values. You will be expected to maintain high clinical standards, share best practice and play an active role in mentoring both apprentices and student radiographers.

Interview date: 23rd, 24th & 27th February 2026

“- NHS Survey, 2024''Allied Health Professionals experience a high diverse and equal work environment, supporting this with 8.33 out of 10.

We are looking for individuals with strong communication and organisational skills, a commitment to ongoing professional development, and a solid understanding of radiation protection, legislation and health and safety requirements. You should be comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team. Applicants must hold a BSc (Hons) in Radiography or a DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers, or an equivalent qualification, and be registered with the HCPC. The role includes participation in a 24/7 shift rota, including nights, weekends and on‑call duties, so flexibility and a patient‑centred approach are essential.

Depending on experience and service needs, you may also have the opportunity to rotate through CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology and Cardiology. We actively support role extension, and many of our radiographers already report on MSK, chest and abdominal imaging.

We also welcome applications from Student Radiographers and Apprentices; we can offer Band 4 roles whilst HCPC registration is pending.

Milton Keynes University Hospital, in proud partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital committed to advancing patient care through cutting-edge research and education. With a “Good” rating from the CQC and significant investment underway, this is an exciting time to join our team and grow your career.

As a medium sized general hospital, we provide a full range of general medical and surgical services, including a busy Emergency Department, Maternity, and Paediatrics. As the population of our city and surrounding areas continues to grow rapidly, we are expanding and enhancing our facilities to meet rising demand and improve access to care for all our communities.

We are also proud to offer a growing portfolio of specialist services. In January 2025 we opened our state-of-the-art Radiotherapy Centre, bringing advanced cancer treatment closer to home. Our services also include neonatology, specialist surgical care, and a wide range of diagnostics, supported by the new Community Diagnostic Centre at Whitehouse Health Centre.

Further investment is underway, including the construction of Oak Wards – a new ward block featuring two 24-bed wards – and the recently approved Women and Children’s Centre, set to open by 2030.
