Summary
Neway International are seeking a Temporary Development Support Officer – Housing to join our client based with Runnymede Borough Council.
Location: Runnymede Civic Centre, Station Road, Addlestone, Surrey, KT15 2AH
Hours: 37 hours per week
Start Date: 19 January 2026
Duration: 12 Weeks

The Development Team plays a key role in shaping future housing provision and ensuring smooth delivery of regeneration and development projects.
The Role
The Temporary Development Support Officer will provide essential administrative and project support to the Development Team. This role is central to ensuring accurate documentation, effective coordination, and timely delivery of key development and regeneration activities. You will work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and residents to support a range of operational and project‑based tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver the full Development Administration function for the Council.
Collaborate with internal teams to create an updated Home User Guide (HUG) and homeowner manual for upcoming handovers.
Develop handover document checklists and filing systems for each plot.
Include and maintain information on resident groups (private and council).
Explore communication opportunities with Comms and developers for handover processes.
Conduct Sequential Testing data collection for council‑owned stock, including construction type, build date, estate composition, and private ownership levels.
Produce detailed reports with consultants for submission to the Planning Team, including mapping images.
Begin collation of regeneration householder profile information.
Create structured filing systems for existing tenants (Phase 1), capturing household composition, needs, mobility, social factors, and future aspirations.
Update newsletter contact lists.
Set up and maintain key document filing systems.
Process invoices and match purchase orders.
Create purchase orders as required.
Log approaches to purchase properties.
Support the development team in establishing procedures to identify properties with unextinguished covenants.
Liaise with the Legal Team to ensure accurate logging and provision of information for notifications.
Record and log income sources.
Undertake additional tasks as required as the role evolves.
Candidate Requirements
Computer literate with strong experience using databases and Microsoft Office packages.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
Highly organised, confident, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Able to work independently, using initiative to deliver objectives without daily supervision.
A collaborative team player with a flexible, adaptable, and positive approach.
Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and a methodical working style.
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to delivering high‑quality work.
Understanding of the development process is desirable but not essential.
