A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 94-year-old woman living alone in my flat in Penarth. My husband recently passed away, he was a solicitor while I worked as a teacher and spent time working in radio. I also have support from my children.
My social life is very important to me, I enjoy seeing friends whenever possible and enjoy theatre and the opera.
I have severe arthritis so need support to lift things (even lifting the kettle is painful) and getting up and out of bed. I am physically quite frail mentally still very sharp. I also have a heart condition.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I am looking for a female PA to support me with my morning routine and to provide personal care as necessary. Support carrying out domestic tasks is also required.
HOURS OF WORK
3 hours per week available to be worked 9am-12pm on a Friday. There is also scope for these hours to increase.
Also potential to cover hours when my other PAs are off work.
RATES OF PAY
£14.70 per hour.
TASKS INVOLVED
Supporting me to get up and out of bed in the morning.
Helping me to get dressed.
Preparing breakfast and a cup of tea/coffee.
Personal care as necessary.
Generally supporting me at home.
Supporting me with domestic tasks.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
A polite person.
A reliable and punctual person.
Female only due to the personal care involved.
A friendly and kind person.
Someone who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
