Job Title: Coffee Shop Assistant/Barista
Job Type: Temporary

Length of contract: 4 Weeks
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffees, teas, and other beverages to staff and students.
- Support the preparation and service of light snacks, sandwiches, and pastries.
- Operate till and handle cash/card transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food preparation and service areas.
- Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and general kitchen duties.
- Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures.
- Work as part of a small, friendly team in a busy environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Experienced in a similar capacity/front of house/F&B ideally in a coffee shop/cafe setting.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain standards under pressure.
- Understanding of allergen management and safe food handling.
Desirable/Additional:
- Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (CIEH / RSPH / Highfield) - essential
- Basic Health & Safety Awareness - desirable but not mandatory (Understanding of COSHH, manual handling, and workplace safety procedures.)
- Allergen Awareness Training - ideally, candidates should have completed online or in-person Allergen Awareness Training (in line with Natasha's Law requirements for food labelling).
