Assistant Growing Manager - Spalding

Salary circa £45,000 per annum

Full time and permanent contract

JDR are currently recruiting for an Assistant Growing Manager to join our produce client in the Spalding area. This is a fantastic opportunity and we're open to speaking with candidates from a variety of backgrounds eg, farming, flowers, chemicals etc. This client offers great opportunities for internal development within the organisation.

This is a full-time on-site role in the Spalding area, successful candidates must be able to commute to the office daily.

What you'll be doing -

  • Support and assist with the effective growing and harvesting of crops
  • Maintaining standards of quality, hygiene and safety
  • Ensure times are met and product is produced to specification and in time for the customer needs
  • Retain and develop your team including a mixture of internal and agency staff
  • Monitor and control the general housekeeping of the forcing rooms and greenhouse, ensuring corrective action is taken when needed

What we're looking for -

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role, ideal backgrounds would be farming, flowers, fresh produce
  • An awareness of product defects that can affect the quality and harvest of crops
  • National diploma in Agriculture or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of pesticides
  • Comprehensive computer and IT skills
  • Strong communication skills and people management experience

This is a full-time role working 45 hours per week, successful candidates must be flexible to work various hours Monday to Friday.
