Finance & Accounts Manager | Devon | Office-Based | £40,000 – £45,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client, a well-established and growing business based near South Molton, Devon. They are now looking for a Finance & Accounts Manager to take ownership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting the business’s continued success.

This is a permanent, full-time role within a small, friendly team, offering stability, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact.

• £40,000 – £45,000 salary, dependent on experience
• 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (no weekends)

The Finance & Accounts Manager Role:

As Finance & Accounts Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, and full compliance across the business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, variety, and being at the heart of a business.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance & Accounts Manager:

• Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including analysis and insight
• Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity, and payment processes
• Oversee product costing reviews and report key variances to management
• Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, tax, and financial legislation, including VAT and HMRC submissions
• Lead the annual accounts and audit process
• Maintain strong financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations, and risk management across the business
• Oversee payroll reporting, payment runs, stock takes, and inter-group transactions
• Review and manage key company contracts, policies, and financial systems

What We’re Looking For:

You’ll be a confident and organised finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is comfortable working independently when required.

Essential skills and experience:

• AAT Level 3 (minimum)
• Experience using Xero
• Familiarity with MAM Software (or willingness to learn)
• Strong systems, reporting, and analytical skills
• Experience with financial controls, forecasting, and planning
• Professional, discreet, and detail-focused
