Job Title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Location: Ponterwyd
Hours: 4 hours per week
Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour

Introduction
I require a personal assistant to support me with accessing the community to expand on socialisation opportunities and provide me with opportunities to practice the life skills I have been learning in school/college.
I experience anxiety when in unfamiliar settings, or with unfamiliar people.
I am able to verbally communicate and prefer clear verbal communication. I may struggle with prolonged conversations.
I have some understanding of the value of money but do not know how much to give or how much to expect back in change.

Key Duties (may include but are not limited to):
• Encourage me to visit unfamiliar places to build my confidence.
• Support me to take part in money exchanges when purchasing things in the community
• Keep interactions ‘short and sweet’ with people I do not know
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Supporting with accessing the community
• Enable me to express my preferences and needs
• Ensure my dignity, choices, and independence are always respected

Person Specification
Essential:
• Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
• Respectful of confidentiality and boundaries
• Flexible and willing to adapt to my needs
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
• Previous experience in care or support work (not essential – training can be provided)
• Driving licence and access to a car, you must have appropriate business use insurance if you use your car in connection with work
• Shared interests (to help with social engagement)

Additional Information
• Employment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check
• Paid holiday entitlement will be provided in line with statutory requirements.
• Induction and any necessary training will be provide

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
