About The Team:

SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) is a specialist higher education institution delivering tertiary education, research and consultancy. SRUC’s principal purpose is to advance education, science, research, and environmental protection and improvement in rural and land-based industries, both domestically and internationally.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a professional and approachable Receptionist / Administrator to join our Student Services team. The main purpose of this role is to deliver a welcoming, efficient reception service that meets customer needs and supports the smooth operation of on-campus activity, while providing general administrative assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

You will manage the reception desk and switchboard, handling enquiries from staff, students, visitors and external contacts in person, by phone and electronically. This will include being the first point of contact for Student Enquiries, providing information and answering routine queries in a friendly and efficient manner and referring complex enquiries to appropriate colleagues. You’ll collate information on typical enquiries in order to assist with the review, development and implementation of resources and procedures. Other duties include managing incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries, liaising with colleagues to report and resolve issues with campus facilities, assisting with room bookings, coordinating hire car collections, and ordering catering for meetings and events. You will also provide administrative support such as typing, data input, filing, printing, copying, and minute-taking, as well as monitoring office supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Educated to SCQF Level 4 or above.


Desirable:

Educated to SCQF Level 7 or above (e.g., HNC) and/or a qualification in Business Administration to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
