An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Care Assistant to join a proudly independent small animal practice in South East London!

This thriving, modern clinic has been purpose built to deliver outstanding veterinary care, and as part of a small, close knit team, the successful candidate will work directly alongside both practice directors, ensuring their voice is heard, valued, and truly shapes the future of the practice. With digital X-ray, ultrasound, a spacious operating theatre, a dedicated RVN consult room, separate cat ward, an in-house laboratory, and a welcoming staff welfare space, the environment has been designed with both patient comfort and team wellbeing in mind.

The practice is built on a passion for personalised, compassionate care, bringing back the warmth, familiarity, and human connection of a true community clinic. Here, every team member is supported, appreciated, and encouraged to grow, because when the team thrives, patients benefit. This ethos creates a genuinely positive and collaborative atmosphere where individuals feel inspired to deliver their best every day.

The Veterinary Care Assistant will play an essential role in the daily running of the clinic, working hands on across a wide range of clinical responsibilities. From assisting vets and nurses with procedures, preparing patients for theatre, and supporting recovery, to maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and providing attentive inpatient care, the role is varied, meaningful, and deeply rewarding. Additional tasks such as stock control and equipment checks ensure the smooth functioning of the clinical areas.

While the practice has a dedicated client care team, the VCA will also contribute to front-of-house support when needed, greeting clients with warmth, assisting with calls and bookings, providing information about services, processing payments, and ensuring accurate records. This collaborative approach ensures every client and pet receives a seamless, friendly, and reassuring experience.

This role is ideal for a proactive, empathetic individual with previous Veterinary Care Assistant experience who is eager to be part of a supportive team that values high standards, personal growth, and genuine connection. If you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact while developing your skills in a modern, forward thinking, independent practice, this could be the perfect next step!
