FLT Counterbalance & HGV Class 2 Driver
- Location: Leyland, Lancashire
- Dates: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hour working week
- Hours: 2pm – 10pm (set shift patterns)
- Pay: £15.50 per hour (PAYE) + holiday pay accrual on all hours worked
About the role:
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing and packing company in Leyland for the dual position of FLT Counterbalance & HGV Class 2 Driver. This is a position that is offered on a 12-week temporary to permanent basis (weekly pay).
Responsibilities:
- Driving a Class 2 vehicle to deliver products safely between company owned sites
- Driving between 5 to 10 miles from site, typically between business-owned premises, with adhoc requirements of shunting stock and finished products between required customer and carrier locations.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing delivery paperwork accurately.
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety and road transport legislation.
- Assisting with loading / unloading where required (FLT Counterbalance)
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with valid Class 1 or 2 (Category C) entitlement.
- Current CPC card and digital tachograph card.
- No more than 6 penalty points on licence (for insurance purposes).
- Previous Class 1 or 2 driving experience.
- Good knowledge of UK road networks.
- Strong confidence and excellent spatial awareness – essential for manoeuvring vehicles in confined areas and between sites.
- Reliability and punctuality are vital given the short-term nature of this cover.
