Do you fancy a challenging and rewarding career in the renewable wind energy sector, working in the great outdoors with a chance to work on onshore and offshore wind turbines, in the UK and overseas (Europe) in some of the most amazing locations?
If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for two talented, highly motivated, enthusiastic, dependable and hardworking individuals to support our existing team of non-destructive testing inspection engineers to assist with some large-scale project work in the UK and overseas (Netherlands and Denmark) during 2026.
The position is open to anyone who is interested in obtaining essential ‘hands-on’ experience, training and industry standard qualifications within the wind energy sector and hoping to get their first chance and ‘foot in the door’ in the renewable wind energy sector.
You will be given the very best support and accompany our skilled technicians who will provide on-the-job training in the field of non-destructive testing including: endoscopy, vibration and acoustic analysis, thermography, fault finding, root cause analysis and technical inspection procedures.
All external and mandatory GWO wind turbine basic safety training, medical and fitness to work assessments and additional courses will be fully funded by the company.
Please note, the position is initially for a 'fixed term' of employment of 6 months.
The Role:
The role is for a Wind Turbine Field Support Technician, preferably with some previous engineering experience (ex-armed forces, British Army REME, Royal Navy Engineer Technician, Royal Air Force Engineer Technician, electro-mechanical, maintenance repair in industry etc) or relatable industrial backgrounds including: maintenance, engineering, fault finding or testing (including laboratory).
Primarily, you will be assisting our existing technicians performing endoscopic inspections on wind turbine bearings, gears, generators (drivetrains) using industrial-grade borescopes under close personal supervision in addition to obtaining acoustic, vibration and thermographic data. You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining all tooling and equipment taken to and from site (offshore and onshore).
All work will be conducted ‘on-site’ and you will be expected to work away from home up to a period of 14 consecutive days when working overseas (plus an additional 2x days travelling) or 5 days when working at an onshore location. All expenses are covered by the company in this instance.
The successful applicant will have to attend and successfully pass a job-specific ‘fitness-to-work’ medical assessment before being offered a contract of employment.
Although the role is initially for a fixed term of employment, the term may be extended or an offer of a full time position within the company.
You must be computer literate and served an engineering apprenticeship and/or attained NVQ L3, HNC or NHD qualifications (although relevant experience will be considered). GCSEs (minimum grade C and above) in Maths, English and Science and holder of a valid UK driving licence.
The candidate must also reside within 30 minutes’ commutable distance to our office located in Greenfield, Holywell, Flintshire. CH8 7GR
