We are recruiting dedicated Support Workers to join an exciting brand-new care package in Royal Wootton Bassett (Swindon). This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a small, consistent team supporting a client with complex needs in a person-centred way.
About the Client:
Our client is living with vascular dementia and Type 1 diabetes. As a result of his dementia, he can display challenging behaviours at times, so we are seeking Support Workers who are calm, patient, resilient, and confident in managing complex care requirements.
He proudly served in the Navy as an Engineer and values structure, respect, and meaningful engagement. He enjoys:
- Watching classic western films
- Listening to western music
- Gardening and spending time outdoors
The ideal Support Worker will take the time to build trust, engage him in his interests, and promote his wellbeing through positive and fulfilling activities.
Shifts Available:
- Day shifts: 8am8pm
- Waking nights: 8pm8am
Role Responsibilities
As part of this package, you will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality personal care and daily living support
- Assisting with diabetes management in line with training and guidance
- Encouraging and participating in activities the client enjoys, particularly gardening and outdoor time
- Working collaboratively with care home staff during double-up shifts
- Promoting dignity, independence, and emotional reassurance
- Managing and responding appropriately to challenging behaviours
- Building strong, supportive relationships to enhance quality of life
