Hours: 25hrs a week for 52 weeks
Start date: 6th April 2026
Greenway and Trowbridge Primary Schools are situated in the East of Cardiff and are part of The Oaks Federation. The Headteacher and Governing Body of The Oaks Federation are looking to employ a new Estates Manager for Greenway Primary School, following the retirement of the previous long serving post holder.
The main duties of successful candidate will include:
• Opening and securing the school sites at agreed times.
• Acting as a main key holder and responding to emergencies.
• Monitoring heating, lighting and water systems, checking meters, and ensuring plant rooms are safe and well maintained.
• Maintaining the tidiness and general presentation of the school buildings and surrounding areas.
• Undertaking routine maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY tasks, within your level of competency, as agreed with the Headteacher.
• Maintaining clear, safe access routes around the school, especially during adverse weather.
• Supporting contractors on site and reporting any concerns to the Headteacher.
• Keeping basic records such as checks, logs and health and safety documentation.
The successful candidate will:
• Be reliable, flexible and capable of working independently.
• Have good practical skills for maintenance, basic repairs and general caretaking tasks.
• Take pride in keeping the school safe, clean and welcoming.
• Demonstrate good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Be confident in following health and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with staff, contractors and the wider school community.
