Summary

Clinical Duties will include: To take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the paediatric musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and non-complex school aged referrals and be accountable for a designated area of work. Plan and organise this efficiently and effectively with regard to patient management and use of time. To undertake a significant clinical caseload working at a specialist level with other agencies and health professionals. To be responsible for the provision of highly specialised assessment, treatment and management of children and adolescents who present with a wide variety of conditions. These include chronic, complex, disabling and life-limiting conditions. To determine clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management and those of more junior staff providing a comprehensive and appropriate physiotherapy service to children, families and carers. To provide leadership to the paediatric musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy service. To work with other senior clinicians, advanced practice physiotherapists, and the clinical lead within paediatric physiotherapy to provide integrated care across the specialist areas and between acute and community services. To be responsible for service development within the team, to implement policy and policy changes within the clinical area with support from the Clinical Lead, physiotherapy and MDT colleagues. To represent a positive and inspirational role model for all the team members.
