We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner to join our highly skilled Operating Theatres team at The Princess Grace Hospital. Our seven stateoftheart theatres include a hybrid theatre, a dedicated robotic surgery suite and multiple laminar flow theatres designed for advanced orthopaedic procedures. As a Senior Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner, you will: Provide highquality, patientcentred care throughout the perioperative journey for a wide range of major elective orthopaedic procedures. Scrub for complex surgeries including hip, knee and shoulder operations, as well as joint replacements and revision procedures. Take responsibility for running theatre lists, ensuring theatres are prepared, equipped and compliant with safety and infectioncontrol standards. Prepare and maintain the sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgical team and ensuring safe, efficient and effective practice at all times. Support the surgical team intraoperatively, demonstrating advanced knowledge of orthopaedic instrumentation, implants and specialist equipment. Act as a role model within the theatre suite, promoting best practice and upholding the highest standards of patient safety and clinical governance. Mentor, support and guide junior practitioners, contributing to their development and fostering a positive learning environment. Work collaboratively with anaesthetic, recovery and wider MDT colleagues to ensure seamless, highquality patient care. Participate in continuous quality improvement, audits and initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and theatre efficiency. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all regulatory, professional and organisational standards. Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC). Significant experience as a scrub practitioner in major elective orthopaedics. Strong knowledge of orthopaedic instrumentation, implants and surgical techniques. Ability to lead theatre lists and support the coordination of daily activity. Excellent communication, teamwork and problemsolving skills.
