If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding start to your occupational therapy career in mental health then this post could be for you. The Lambeth occupational therapy inpatient service is seeking an occupational therapist to join the team.

We are looking for enthusiasm, initiative, resilience and confidence!

In return we offer an environment where you can practise the full range of your newly acquired knowledge and practical skills with the support of a friendly and experienced occupational therapy team.

You will have protected CPD time and training opportunities, clinical supervision and the chance to take students when you feel ready.

If this sounds like a job you could take on we would be delighted to receive your application.

To provide occupationally focused interventions to service users on the ward. This will include evidence based individual and group interventions to promote recovery and support safe discharge back to the community. They will be required to hold and integrate both the OT specific and generic elements of their job whilst complying with the college of Occupational Therapists’ Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. The post holder will be part of the wider Lambeth inpatient occupational therapy team and will be expected to participate in the development of the service overall and work flexibly with occupational therapy colleagues according to the wider needs of the service.

The site has seven wards with occupational therapists working in acute, rehab and intensive care wards, currently based at Landor Road. Later this year the wards will be moving over to a new building based at the Maudsley hospital which will enable greater collaboration between Lambeth occupational therapists and their counterparts in Southwark.

We place emphasis upon continuing professional development and all the Lambeth occupational therapists receive one day per month to participate in related activities. In addition we encourage student placements so you will be supported to take a student as soon as you feel ready. Preceptorship is also offered for newly qualified occupational therapists.
