Head of Finance

Clayesmore is seeking an exceptional Head of Finance to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy, sustainability and operational excellence of our thriving school based in North Dorset.
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations (DFO), you will lead the Finance team and ensure the effective management of all financial activities across the School and its associated entities. This is a senior role within the Business and Operations team at the heart of the organisation, working closely with the DFO and their wider team (HR, Operations, Estates and Commercial) to support Clayesmore’s long-term success.
As Head of Finance, you will provide high-level financial leadership, expert analysis and trusted advice to senior management and Trustees. Your remit will include overseeing all financial processes, systems and controls, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency. Leading on budgeting, forecasting, five-year planning, managing financial risk, and monthly management reporting with meaningful analysis and KPIs will also be important aspects of your role.
The successful candidate will be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with significant management experience in a complex organisation; they will be highly analytical, detail-oriented and methodical. Excellent communication skills are also key as liaison with parents in an empathetic and understanding way is important.
Experience within education, charities, procurement, or systems such as IRIS, iSAMS or Oracle NetSuite would be advantageous.
