Crynodeb

Swallows Oast Stables offer a full livery service with a yard that has been designed so that every horse can always see a friend, be it in the paddock or in their stable. With a happy and relaxed atmosphere where horses can enjoy the luxury of acres of space, individual turnout, off-road forestry commission hacking and individual care. Other facilities include; a large American barn stables that include rubber matting and an automatic drinker, 20×60 floodlit menage that rides superbly all year round, an all weather woodchip surfaced gallop, a barn kitchen for refreshments and socialising, plus staff living on site. Swallows Oast is a safe and supportive environment for horses, clients and staff.
An exciting opportunity to join a fun, friendly team learning all aspects for a future career in the equestrian industry.

Duties to include but not limited to;

Mucking out
Turning out/bring in horses
Daily care for horses
Daily yard maintenance
Feeding/watering/hay
Grooming/trimming
Exercising – riding/lunging depending on experience
Basic business interactions with liveries
Desired Skills and Qualities

Hard working
Applicants should have some previous experience of dealing with horses and must show this on their application
Team Player
Desired Qualifications

English and maths GCSE’s, or equivalents, are desired.
Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care to be eligible for a level 2 apprenticeship.
Future prospects

Opportunity to be offered a full time job after completion and possible Level 3.
Training

Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship.
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and onsite visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
