The Engineering Office Assistant – CAD Technician provides technical and administrative support to the engineering and order processing teams by preparing and updating CAD drawings, maintaining engineering documentation, and assisting with customer order specifications. This role ensures accurate documentation and supports the efficient processing of technical customer orders.
Create, update, and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings for standard and custom components or assemblies.
Prepare technical documents, layout drawings, and customer approval drawings based on order requirements.
Assist in the preparation of manufacturing documents such as BOMs (Bill of Materials), specifications, and work instructions.
Organize and maintain electronic and hard copy engineering files, drawings, and records.
Support the Technical Support Lead in reviewing customer orders and identifying missing or conflicting information.
Update technical data in ERP or PLM systems as required.
Collaborate with engineers and technical staff to ensure drawings reflect the latest standards and customer requirements.
Assist in preparing presentations or technical documents for internal or customer use.
Follow company drawing and documentation standards (e.g., title block, revision control).
Provide general administrative support to the engineering office, including data entry, document formatting, and task tracking.

The person
1–3 years of experience in a CAD/drafting role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
Basic understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and design for manufacturability.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).


Qualifications
Diploma or associate degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, CAD Technology, or transferrable skill set.
Experience supporting custom or engineered-to-order products.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., EFACS, SAP, Oracle) and PLM tools.
Knowledge of ISO or other document control standards.
