Summary
We are recruiting staff for Asparagus picking. This is a short term contract for the duration of our asparagus season which will start towards the end of April and last until 21st June.
You will be cutting asparagus in the fields. This involves walking up the rows of crop, cutting the Asparagus at ground level and placing it in boxes. You will be part of a team of people, following the tractor which carries the boxes. Training is provided.
This is physically hard work and requires repeated bending and standing. A good level of physical fitness and stamina is helpful.
We have a multi-national workforce and a mix of both new and returning staff. This is an excellent opportunity to earn money over an 8 week season, make new friends and be out in the fresh air.
We work 7 days a week, with one day off in 7 or two days of in 14. The crop is weather dependent: warmer weather will mean more hours, and colder weather may result in shorter hours or time off. Commitment through the season is essential.
Our working day starts from 7am. Basic hours are 8 hours a day. Overtime is paid after 4pm on weekdays and at weekends.
Exact start date to be confirmed, but we expect this to be towards the end of April.
No experience required but a good work ethic and a willing and positive attitude is mandatory!
