Location: Tewkesbury
Department: Haulage
Hours: 48 hours per week (averaged, Sunday to Saturday) - night-shift role on a five-week rolling rota
Salary: £41,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, permanent

A long-established and respected food and dairy business in Tewkesbury is seeking an experienced HGV Driver to join their friendly and organised haulage team. This night-shift role operates on a five-week rolling rota, with shifts typically starting between 10pm and 3am, including some weekends and bank holidays.

This is an ideal position for a reliable, safety-conscious Class 1 Driver or Delivery Professional who enjoys working independently, values variety, and takes pride in delivering excellent service to wholesale and retail customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver goods safely and on time to wholesale and retail customers

  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues promptly

  • Load and unload goods, ensuring all items are secure and accurate before travel

  • Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and professional presentation

  • Manage delivery paperwork and use handheld or electronic systems to record deliveries

  • Handle customer payments and returned goods when required

  • Follow all health & safety, food hygiene, and security procedures

  • Represent the business professionally and courteously with customers

  • Provide cover for colleagues during holidays or sickness periods

Candidate Profile

  • Full UK Category CE (Class 1) licence with minimal penalty points

  • Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card

  • Strong communication skills and a professional, reliable attitude

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills

  • Comfortable working night shifts, early starts, weekends, and a rotating schedule

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Previous experience in delivery driving, distribution, or logistics

  • Familiarity with electronic handheld delivery systems

  • Forklift licence
