Electrical Installation Trainer
Location: Eastchurch, Isle of Sheppey
We are currently working on behalf of East Kent College Training to recruit an Electrical Installation Lecturer for their Eastchurch site. The role is based at a specialist training centre, supporting adult learners through offender rehabilitation by developing practical, industry-relevant skills for their future.
The position is offered on a full-time basis (37 hours per week). The organisation is seeking to make a permanent appointment but is open to a temporary placement in the interim if this suits you better.
The Role
This is a rewarding opportunity for an electrical professional or experienced lecturer to deliver practical, skills-focused training that supports learners into employment and further progression.
Open to Non-Teachers
Applicants do not need a teaching qualification to be considered. Candidates with a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation and relevant industry experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching, training, and assessing learners in Electrical Installation (Level 2 and above)
- Delivering engaging, hands-on practical sessions aligned to industry standards
- Planning and delivering innovative lessons from Level 1 to Level 2
- Supporting learners to develop confidence, employability, and real-world electrical skills
- Assessing progress, tracking achievement, and implementing learner interventions
- Maintaining strong classroom management and an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Using industry experience to inspire and motivate learners
Ideal Candidate
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation is essential
- Industry experience within electrical installation
- Passion for developing others and sharing trade knowledge
- Teaching or training experience is desirable
This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through education while working within a supportive training environment.
The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and ideally you will be on the update service, however we will cover the cost of a new DBS if this is not the case.
