Summary
Charge Nurse / Junior Sister (Band 6)
Respiratory / Rheumatology – Frimley Park Hospital
12 month fixed term contract
This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse with substantial experience working in an acute hospital setting, preferably within respiratory medicine or general medicine.
F16 is a newly established ward, opened in April, comprising 38 beds, including 22 side rooms and 16 beds arranged across four bays. The ward is unique in delivering care across two specialties: respiratory medicine and rheumatology/general medicine.
Due to the diverse and complex patient population, this role requires a nurse with a broad range of clinical knowledge and skills, strong leadership abilities, and the flexibility to adapt to a varied clinical environment. You will play a key role in supporting high standards of patient care while contributing to the ongoing development of this dynamic ward.
Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
Provide clinical leadership and support to the nursing team, ensuring care standards meet local and national guidelines.
Actively contribute to decision-making and deputise for the Team Leader when required.
Deliver and oversee care for acutely unwell respiratory patients, including recognition and escalation of the deteriorating patient, and management of chest drains and tracheostomies.
Ensure effective communication, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times in line with Trust policies.
Promote equality, diversity, and the rights of patients, families, and staff.
Comply with Trust policies including fire safety and emergency procedures.
Take on additional responsibilities such as clinical audits, demonstrating effective time management and organisational skills.
