Are you passionate about teaching babies, children and adults to swim? Are you looking for a new opportunity to contribute towards the development of a Learn to Swim programme? The University of Nottingham has 2 new part-time positions available to support with the delivery and administration of the Aquatics programme, focused around the Learn to Swim programme.

Our Learn to Swim programme is available for all ages and abilities from 6 weeks to adults; delivering group lessons for Early years, Juniors and Adults, 1-2-1/Private Bubble lessons and a School Holiday programme.

Roles and responsibilities will include providing first class standard of teaching, teaching for a minimum of 50% of your hours per week to a range of ages and abilities. Supporting the Aquatics Officer in co-ordinating high quality and diverse programme including tasks such as arranging staffing for the delivery of the lessons, monitoring the movements, numbers and assessments of the swimmers, co-ordinating the enrolment of current and new customers onto the programme, working with swim lesson software systems, responding to customer enquiries, supporting with the training and development of the Swim teachers team and Front of House team and providing customer communication updates and promotions.

Previous experience of teaching swimming lessons and an understanding of the swim programme procedures is essential, enrolments and customer communication is essential. SEQ Level 2 swim teacher qualification or equivalent is required. Relevant training in relation to computer software programmes, teaching Early years lessons and National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and or National Rescue Swim Teacher and Coaches qualification will be provided to the role holder.

This are 2 permanent, part time positions - Position 1 is 18 hours and position 2 is 18.25hrs per week, which will include evenings and weekends. There are 2 part time roles available so there is the option to swap days of work if the other part time person is interested. Flexibility with working hours required; option to swap Saturday or Sunday shift with other part time person on flexible basis if both are agreeable.

The programme runs 44 weeks of the year so there will be opportunity during children’s school holiday periods to swap your weekend shift for a day during the week if you wish.

There will also be the opportunity to set up a casual Level 2 Swim teachers' contract to have the flexibility to pick up extra cover teaching hours or a regular teaching slot if interested. Hourly rate of pay £16.46 per hour plus Holiday pay. Extra teaching hours available during the children’s school holiday periods.

Working hours – 18.25hrs per week

Tuesdays 13.30-20.15
Fridays 9.00-15.30
Saturdays 8.00-14.30

Teaching hours per week:

Tuesdays 16.00-20.00
Fridays 9.00-12.00
Available to step in and cover on Saturdays
