Summary
An experienced qualified practitioner who can provide clinical leadership and management support to the UTC/MIU teams and ensuring optimum quality of care to all patients attending the Urgent care treatment centres/Minor Injury Unit, by offering support to the multi- professional team. Providing initial/secondary clinical assessments and treatments independently or in participation with other clinicians in accordance with agreed pathways and clinical guidelines. Developing and evaluating best practice within the UTC's/MIU.
The practitioner will be given the opportunity to develop their clinical skills in assessment and treatments. There will be an opportunity for ongoing professional development to support the role and development of the service at UTC's. The Practitioner will be able to work closely with colleagues at the UTC and those in the Emergency Medicine team to ensure best practice and relationships are maintained. The UTC's/MIU have a friendly , hard working team of practitioners, health care staff, GP's and Advanced Practitioners striving to ensure that all patients receive the the highest quality of care & patient experience.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
A skilled practitioner providing support and leadership to the UTC/MIU teams. Responsible for the clinical assessment of patients both adults and children and management of patient treatments evidence based best practice in collaboration with the other UTC practitioners, Advanced Practitioners, GP's and health care support workers, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented, and evaluated involving patients and users. Maintain accurate records of all consultations and treatments in patients notes written and computerised.
• Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct. Contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies always.
• Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team including situations where difficulties in comprehension occur.
• A skilled practitioner and clinical leader Providing support to the MIU/UTC’s clinical team, participating in service development.

• Demonstrate technical and practical clinical skills to ensure optimum patient care management including patient observations; wound care management, equipment management and administration of agreed invasive tests/procedures.
• Maintain accurate, records of all consultations and treatments in the patient’s notes written and computerised.
• Manage expected (and occasional unexpected) clinical events requiring high but unpredictable levels of physical effort according to patient dependency/clinical need, referring to a senior member of staff where appropriate e.g., in an unexpected event.
• Support patients, carers and others during difficult situations arising in the clinical area, e.g., imparting bad news or following an unexpected event.
• Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
• Organisation of cross-departmental/organisational activities to support patient care pathways.
• Utilise and ensure others utilise information and IT systems to secure accurate and timely patient and resource data.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control at all times.
• Develop and educate staff, participating in supervision, mentorship and appraisal as required.
• Teaching, assessing, and supervising/providing mentorship to appropriate students or junior staff.
