An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team. This team is part of the wider Children's therapies team, a supportive and dynamic team with many professional development opportunities. This role would involve working across our Early Years Clinic and Mainstream Schools teams. This role has become available due to a current team member being seconded into another role.

• Knowledge and/or experience of working with, a diverse paediatric caseload 2-18 years old
• Experience of supporting the evaluation of service delivery in clinics and mainstream schools
• Experience in delivering universal and / or targeted level offers to schools
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-agency team
• Ability to work flexibly and independently where necessary
• Enthusiasm, imagination, and initiative
• Understanding of the neurodiversity framework
The role will encompass supervision and and support of junior speech and language therapists as well as speech and language therapy assistants. The post holder will also support the development and evaluation of service delivery.
• To undertake specialist paediatric assessment of children/students on own caseload, who may have complex presentations and from this assessment to formulate a treatment plan and carry out this treatment as an autonomous practitioner.
• To work closely with parents/carers and teaching staff, and other MDT members to support each child.
• To supervise and support undergraduate students, and be involved in teaching MDT staff as well as those from other agencies.
• To support the implementation of evidence-based projects, including making recommendations for change in practice and participating in departmental research and audit as appropriate.

The Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team and the wider St George's Children's Therapies team provide services across acute, community and school sites.
