Crynodeb

The School of Arts and Creative Industries is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer (TSPP) in Cultural Leadership to play a key role in the development and delivery of the MBA Cultural and Creative Leadership (Senior Leader Apprenticeship).

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cultural or creative sector leader to contribute to a growing, innovative programme designed for future senior leaders across the cultural and creative industries.

About the Role

The standard TSPP role at the University combines:

Teaching and learning
Scholarly activity and professional practice
Knowledge exchange and business engagement
Associated academic administration

The balance of these responsibilities may vary over time, but all are integral to the role. You will use your significant professional experience, sector knowledge and leadership expertise to shape high-quality teaching, support learner development, and contribute to a thriving academic community.

You will work closely with academic colleagues, employers, external partners and industry stakeholders to ensure the programme remains relevant, innovative and responsive to sector needs—particularly in areas such as cultural policy, leadership, organisational strategy, digital transformation, and applied EDI practice.

About You

We are seeking an individual with:

Significant leadership experience within the cultural and/or creative sectors
A first degree and master’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualification/experience
Professional experience encompassing leadership, management and operations, including (but not limited to):

People management
Strategy and policy
Funding and finance
Innovation and research

Proven experience of applied EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) within organisational or sectoral contexts
Current knowledge of emerging technologies and their relevance to the cultural and creative industries
The ability to contribute to knowledge exchange, enterprise activity and business engagement

Teaching Delivery & Flexibility Requirements

The role includes a blended teaching model incorporating both campus-based sessions and online delivery.

While meetings, planning and some delivery will take place at Teesside University Middlesbrough Campus, the programme’s teaching delivery model centres on intensive teaching weeks and online seminars.
The postholder will teach across multiple campuses, including regular commitments at TU London Campus.

Example teaching schedule (illustrative only):

4 Intensive Weeks per academic year at TU London Campus.

Each intensive week typically spans Monday–Friday
The postholder would teach for at least part of each intensive week
Travel and accommodation will be required.

Fortnightly online seminars
Occasional on-campus meetings at Middlesbrough for planning, assessment boards and curriculum development
Additional activities may include employer liaison, apprenticeship reviews and knowledge exchange events (online or campus-based)
This flexible pattern allows you to contribute meaningfully to a dynamic programme while maintaining strong links with professional practice and industry partners.

If you are shortlisted, your interview will take place online, via Microsoft Teams.

The interview will take place on 24 February 2026.

Please be advised that due to the minimum salary thresholds imposed by the UKVI, this post may qualify for University sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.

The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our clearance procedures.

Please note that the University may ask you to participate in a number of selection activities as part of the recruitment process for this vacancy.
