Role
Our client is a 17-year-old male who functions closer to a 7-year-old, with a lovely polite personality and good sense of humour. Our client can struggle to speak and express themselves, but this becomes easier once trust is built. Our client needs a little encouragement to go outside and once out will require a watchful eye due to little awareness of dangers, including traffic and strangers. Once out our client enjoys walks, bowling and McDonalds. Our client loves Pokémon and is exploring getting the game where you can hunt for them. Having knowledge of Pokémon would aid in rapport building. While it is rare our client can be violent, and this is best handled by negotiating concession with them. Our client says things as they see them and this can at times sound offensive, unless you are aware they just saying what they see.
Our client has ADHD, Autism, Global development delay, global cognitive disorder and intellectual disability.
You must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work as well as patience. Our client has a bus card so ideally you will be comfortable with travelling on busses.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
