We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead theMetastatic Spinal Cord Compression (MSCC) pathwayacross the South West London Network. This pivotal role ensures timely triage, coordination, and delivery of specialist care for patients with spinal emergencies, in line with NICE guidance.

You will act as the expert point of contact for MSCC referrals, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to provide seamless, patient-centred care. Key responsibilities include managing a caseload, supporting decision-making for treatment (including surgery), and maintaining continuity from diagnosis through follow-up.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence service development, uphold clinical safety, and improve outcomes for patients with complex spinal conditions.


As the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Spine/MSCC, you will lead the South West London MSCC pathway, ensuring timely triage and coordination of care in line with NICE guidelines. You will act as the expert point of contact for MSCC referrals, manage a caseload, run nurse-led clinics, and provide specialist advice and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals throughout treatment.

You will work autonomously, maintain accurate care plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless, patient-centred care. Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient support, MDT coordination, development of clinical protocols, risk management, and service improvement initiatives.

• Lead MSCC pathway management and referrals across the South West London Network.
• Deliver specialist nursing care for patients with MSCC and spinal conditions.
• Provide expert clinical advice, education, and support to patients and staff.

• Participate in service development, audits, and research projects.
• Act as a role model, offering leadership, mentorship, and professional development.
