The Radiotherapy Department currently has a vacancy for a Band 8A Advanced Practice Radiographer for Gynaecological and Lower GI Oncology. This is a part time post with the working days being Mon-Weds and Friday. We are advertising as a Band 8A but may be able to offer appointment as B8a annex 21 so you would be paid at the relevant percentage post pending successful completion of appropriate competencies

This would be ideal for anyone wishing to develop both personally and professionally in our busy and forward thinking radiotherapy department. Ideally you should be able to demonstrate experience in a variety of treatment units, clinical areas and show evidence of leadership and management.

We currently have two Elekta linear accelerators, two Tomotherapy units and 2 Varian Trubeam units, with dedicated SRS platforms, all interfaced with Mosaiq in a paperless environment. Currently, in our remaining 2 bunkers we are having 2 new Varian linacs installed, aiming to be clinical late summer 2026.

The pre-treatment section comprises of two Canon wide bore CT scanners linked to Raystation planning system.

You must be HCPC registered, possess a BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy or equivalent and be fully flexible with shift requirements. Due to the variable nature of the brachytherapy aspect of this role, you will be required to cover early and late shifts as appropriate.

Provide specialist information, support and point of contact as well as assessment and review to patients during the treatment process.

Provide information and support to relatives and carers instrumental in the patient’s on-going care and holistic wellbeing.

To ensure that the patient pathway is run efficiently to ensure the continuity of care, effective use of resources and to ensure that all cancer targets both locally and nationally are achieved.

To provide specialist knowledge to the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) and Network as required.

Operate inter-professionally between the MDT, medical physics, medical staff, radiographers and other allied health care professionals advising and referring as necessary for each patient.

Provide specialist knowledge, skill and expertise to the department, MDT and Network as required.

Strive to enhance service delivery and service development implementing best practice and evidence based practice.
