Summary

Support Worker Wanted

I am 21 years old and looking for a support worker.

I undertake a range of activities at home and in the community.
I adore all things sport related. I also love music and computer games. I’d love my support worker to enjoy these things too.

I have cerebral palsy. I use a wheelchair full time and need help with all aspects of personal care and daily living activities. I need assistance to eat and drink as my upper limb function is limited. I have a PEG for top up feeding. I love to chat and interact but my cerebral palsy effects my speech patterns so you sometimes have to help me be understood, I have a communication aid which I use to support correspondence.

I have a fully adapted and equipped property and wheelchair accessible vehicle.

I need you to help me access desired activities at home and in the community. Some of my desired activities include hydrotherapy in my home pool, attending a gym, running a support group for people with disabilities, attending sporting, musical or theatre events. I need support to do therapy and social and leisure activities.
I sleep well at night but need a sleeping night carer for my safety.
I have a team of support workers and one team leader who you will work alongside.

I am currently looking for either full or part time support workers who can provide 24 hour shifts, during the week and at weekends. Typically shifts are 9am to 9am the following day with an 8 hour sleeping night included. There may be slight variations to start and finish times and candidates who can provide 24 hour support on a slightly varied basis will be considered.

There is also opportunity for additional shorter shifts as double up carer to support trips out and about and activities at home requiring more than one carer.

Full Time, Part Time, Job shares can be considered but candidates must be able to undertake sleep-in shifts as well as day shifts.

You need to have worked with young people like me before and have a full driving licence.

£16.00 per hour weekdays depending on experience.
£17.50 per hour weekends
£12.21 per hour sleeping night shifts (typically 8 hours)
