Part-time role - 16 hours a week. Monday to Friday 10.30am to 1.30pm

As a crucial member of the Ainsdale Lunch and Leisure (ALL) team, you will play a vital part in the development of our Community Café and Luncheon Club service, contributing to the creation and maintenance of a warm, inviting, inclusive environment where service users, volunteers and colleagues alike, feel valued and welcome.

Reporting to the Catering Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities:-

1. Team Collaboration: Contribute as part of the ALL team, in the development of the Community Café and meal service. Your positive contribution will be instrumental in creating a space that fosters community engagement.

2. Volunteer Supervision and Training: Assist the Catering Manager in supervising and training Volunteers assigned to kitchen/Community Café duties.

3. Food Preparation: Prepare sandwiches, toasties and other items including baked goods, etc. for sale in the Community Café.

4. Stock Management: Monitor Community Café stocks and liaise with the Catering Manager to organise replacements as necessary, contributing to the smooth operation of our services.

5. Kitchen Assistance: Be ready to lend a hand to the Catering Manager in various kitchen duties, showcasing your flexibility and commitment to the team’s success.

6. Cleanliness and Hygiene: Collaborate with the Catering Manager in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, Community Café and dining areas including end of day procedures. Uphold high standards of food hygiene in compliance with food safety legislation.

7. Responsibility in Absence: Take ownership of the Catering Manager’s daily responsibilities and duties when the Catering Manager is not available, demonstrating your reliability and adaptability, and also lending both support and direction to agency staff as required.

8. Policy Adherence: Read, understand and comply with the Policies and Procedures of ALL ensuring a consistent and professional approach in all activities.

9. Personal Development: Engage in an annual development and review process to foster personal and professional growth within the organisation.

10. Training Commitment: Attend training sessions, including those on Food Hygiene, First Aid, MECC, etc., as per ALL requirements, ensuring your skills are up-to-date and aligned with industry standards.

11. Versatility: Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by the ALL General Manager or Catering Manager, showcasing your versatility and commitment to the organisation’s success.
