Gylemuir after school club (Gasc) based in Gylemuir primary school is looking for a support worker or Practitioner to work with children 4-12 years olds.
The post requires a creative, enthusiastic, cheerful, reliable, responsible and assertive individual who has good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver a varied activity programme for children aged 4 to 12 years.
The candidate will be working under the guidance of the Manager and Deputy Manager to:
Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children after school to enjoy a wide range of play, learning and leisure activities.
Organise a daily routine that meets the emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs of the children.
Work in partnership with parents, carers and professionals in order to promote the wellbeing of the children.
A qualification in childcare is desirable but not essential. Candidates must be willing to work towards a qualification with support from Gasc.
Hours: After school hours during term time :
Monday - Thursday 2.00pm - 6.00pm
Friday - 11.45am - 6.00PM
There will be an opportunity for additional hours during the holidays working in the holiday club. Holiday clubs run in February, last 2 weeks of the summer and the October holidays.
Pay: Pay is above the National minimum wage and dependent on qualifications.
Registration with SSSC and membership of the PVG Scheme will be a requirement for this post - the cost of this will be covered from Gasc.
