Summary
The focus of the role will be to provide advice, guidance, coaching and support for managers across the trust to support them in developing their own management and team capability. This will be achieved through formal and informal casework, advice, policy and training development.

• job evaluation processes
Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.
During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.
The focus of the role will be to provide advice, guidance, coaching and support for managers across the trust to support them in developing their own management and team capability. This will be achieved through formal and informal casework, advice, policy and training development.
Casework
· Provide a proactive, professional and comprehensive response to employee relation / people management challenges though informal advice and guidance.
· Provide support and leadership to formal casework through specialist advice to investigating officers and panel chairs and members through all stages and decision making, including decisions to suspend, presenting cases in a hearing, formality of approach and panel outcomes.
· Ensure all casework is resolved and progressed at each stage in a timely manner, as determined by the specific circumstances.
· Ensure full and accurate records are maintained, secured and accessible as appropriate. Compile packs for hearings and similar and ensure relevant parties are provided with materials in good time.
· Escalate any concerns and complexities appropriately and in a timely manner.
Supporting and maintaining attendance
· Provide support and leadership in the form of advice and guidance to managers and leaders to resolve individual attendance and health related issues through all stages, including informal support to assist remaining in work through to formal processes including dismissals, redeployments and ill health retirement applications.
· Maintain a clear oversight on divisional absences and risks and work with managers and leaders to develop plans that support attendance in work.
· Monitor and report on compliance with policy, including return to work meetings and formal / informal process management and support.
· Monitor and report on absence data and information accordingly through relevant trust mechanisms
· Liaise with external services, such as access to work and external providers, such as occupational health to ensure individuals are well supported and compliant with procedural requirements. Attendance at case conferences and similar as appropriate.
Policy & Training development
· Provide a source of expertise on employee relations policies and advise accordingly, including internally amongst the HR Advisory team
· Draft, review and contribute to relevant policies, toolkits and guides
· Design, review and deliver training packages across the organisation
· Deliver drop in clinics, or similar, to respond proactively to organisational / divisional requirements
Organisational change
· Under the support / in partnership with the Divisional People Lead, support organisational change processes, such as changes to terms and conditions or restructuring processes.
Job evaluation and analysis
· Advise managers on job evaluation and give specialist advice on developing job descriptions within a service structure. Participate in job matching panels and consistency checking.
Other duties may include participation in projects or specific objectives as agreed and commensurate with the general duties above.
