We are seeking a committed and resilient SEN Secondary Teacher to join our team on a full-time, long-term basis.

This role is ideal for a teacher with strong behaviour management skills, experience in SEMH, PRU or alternative provision, and a passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

About Our School

We are a small, specialist secondary setting with:

  • Small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios

  • A trauma-informed, nurturing approach

  • A personalised curriculum combining academic learning, life skills and personal development

  • Clear expectations built around being ready, respectful and safe

We place relationships, consistency and structure at the centre of everything we do.

The Role

You will:

  • Teach KS3-KS4 pupils with SEMH needs

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons aligned to EHCPs

  • Implement consistent and effective behaviour strategies

  • Create a calm, safe and structured learning environment

  • Work closely with pastoral, therapeutic and leadership teams

  • Support pupils' academic progress, emotional regulation and engagement

  • Contribute positively to whole-school culture and routines

This is a Monday-Friday role (8:15am-4:30pm) on a long-term contract until the end of the academic year, with potential for extension.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who has:

  • QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in a UK secondary school

  • Experience in an SEMH school, PRU or alternative provision

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

  • The ability to commit full-time for the duration of the contract

Why Join Us?

  • Make a genuine difference in a specialist SEMH setting

  • Support pupils who benefit from high structure and positive relationships

  • Work within a supportive and experienced staff team

  • Access professional development in SEMH and behaviour practice

  • Secure, long-term role through to the end of the academic year
