Reading Borough Council is searching for a compassionate, driven, and forward thinking leader to join us as our next Team Manager for Mental Health within Adult Social Care. We are looking for someone who brings both professional confidence and a genuine commitment to improving lives. About the role:
As the Team Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team of skilled practitioners, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, person‑centred support across Adult Social Care.

You’ll bring strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and Safeguarding Adults. More importantly we want someone who applies them with consistency, integrity and compassion.

Your leadership will help embed personalised care, promote independence, and balance positive risk‑taking with robust risk management. You’ll also build strong, collaborative relationships with health partners to ensure holistic, joined‑up support.

You’ll be part of Team Reading, playing your personal part in making Reading a successful and vibrant place.
