Playworker (Before & After School Clubs) - Term Time Only
Location: Valley Invicta Primary School, Leybourne Chase, West Malling, ME19 5FJ
We have two shift options available:
• 15 hrs/week: After School Club (3:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday–Friday)
• 20 hrs/week: Breakfast Club (7:30am to 8:30am, Monday–Friday) plus After School Club (3:00pm to 6:00pm)
Job Type: Part-Time, Term-Time Only
Expected Start Date: January 2026
Join our friendly team delivering fun, safe, and engaging activities for primary school children before and after school.
This role is ideal if you enjoy working with children - whether you’re newly qualified, returning to work, or looking for a rewarding term-time role that fits around your family or other commitments.
You’ll help create a safe, welcoming environment where children can play, socialise, and feel supported at the start and end of their school day.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Leading fun and engaging play-based activities
• Supervising children aged 4 - 11 in a school club setting
• Encouraging positive behaviour and good routines
• Ensuring safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are always followed
• Serving snacks and promoting healthy habits
• Working closely with parents, carers, and colleagues
• Supporting children’s wellbeing, including providing age-appropriate personal or intimate care when required, always in line with safeguarding and care policies
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
• Aged 18 or over (due to insurance and Ofsted regulations)
• Experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or play settings
• Confidence supporting structured but fun activities
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Valid (or willingness to obtain) enhanced DBS
Desirable (but not essential):
• A childcare qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
• First Aid, Safeguarding, or Food Hygiene certificates
