Roles & Responsibilities
  • Intervention Delivery: Leading high-impact, small-group sessions in phonics and early numeracy to accelerate progress for pupils working below age-related expectations.

  • Inclusion Support: Providing dedicated assistance to children with English as an Additional Language (EAL), helping them access the curriculum through visual aids and simplified instructions.

  • Behaviour Mentoring: Implementing the academy's relational behaviour policy, helping pupils to self-regulate and find positive solutions to conflict.

  • Classroom Synergy: Working as a proactive partner to the Class Teacher, anticipating needs and preparing bespoke resources to ensure lessons run smoothly.

  • Pupil Advocacy: Acting as a key point of contact for vulnerable pupils, ensuring their emotional well-being is monitored and supported throughout the day.

  • Community Engagement: Assisting with the safe and welcoming transition of pupils during morning drop-offs and afternoon collections.

Requirements:
  • Experience: Significant experience working with primary-aged children in an inner-city or diverse school setting.

  • Qualifications: A relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or higher) is preferred, though candidates with extensive experience will be considered.

  • Resilience: An unflappable nature and the ability to remain calm and positive in a busy, high-energy classroom.

  • Language Skills: Exceptional verbal English skills are required, and the ability to speak a second community language is a distinct advantage.

  • Compliance: A current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for a new one.
