The Plaister Charity has recently moved to The Grange Equestrian Centre in Devon to expand, and they are now looking for an experienced equine apprentice to join their established team!
They look after Crabbet Arabians in need and breed quality Crabbet Arabians to preserve valuable bloodlines. With around 40 horses altogether, they are a busy establishment with handling everything from foals to stallions, breeding mares, and running a range of events, clinics, demonstrations, shows and competitions. To accommodate this, they have access to impressive facilities which boast multiple indoor and outdoor arenas, 50 stables, and acres of grazing.
This opportunity can be either a riding, non-riding, or a breeding pathway, however if you do wish to take the riding pathway, your riding will need to already be of a good standard to suit their established horses and stallions, and you will be assessed on your riding in your interview process.
Confidence and competence around horses is essential for this apprenticeship placement due to the nature of the horses they work with, and prior experience handling stallions is desirable but not essential as long as you are confident with them.
Hours are 40hrs per week, 5 days per week including every other weekend. Normal hours are 8am - 5pm but can sometimes be flexible on finish times. There will also be regular opportunities to take on more hours if you with to help out with other events they run (e.g. British Dressage comps etc.) to gain further experience.
There is no accommodation at this site so please consider your transport before applying.
There can be availability to bring your own horse, and livery costs can be discussed during your interview process.
An interview and trial will take place.
To apply for this role, you must have been living in the UK for 3 years or more.

All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
