Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teacher - Open New Horizons in Wigan!
Are you an energetic and adaptable KS1 Teacher (QTS) looking to share your passion for learning in a town with a strong sense of community? We are seeking inspiring educators to join supportive primary school settings in Wigan starting in January 2026.
Whether you are an experienced practitioner or a motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT), this is your chance to lead a classroom in the home of the historic Wigan Pier and the famous "Wigan Kebab," fostering curiosity during the most foundational years of a child's education.
Starting in the January 2026 term, we are looking for proactive teachers to support respected primary schools across Wigan. These roles offer total flexibility, ranging from short-term supply to long-term contracts that could lead to permanent positions for the right candidate.
You will be responsible for delivering the KS1 curriculum with energy and creativity, ensuring that every child-from those developing their first phonics sounds to those preparing for Year 2 SATs-feels supported and challenged.
Responsibilities as a KS1 Teacher-
Communicate with and support children with additional needs.

Demonstrate good organisational and verbal communication skills.

Essential:

Relevant qualifications (PGCE, QTS, etc.).

Strong knowledge of the KS1 National Curriculum.

Recent classroom experience.

Two references from the last 5 years (one must be a full child-based safeguarding reference).
