TeacherActive are proud to be working with a specialist secondary school in the Ellesmere Port/Neston area who are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their talented team.
The setting supports young people aged 11–16 with a wide range of additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health needs, communication difficulties, and learning differences. The school provides a safe, structured and highly nurturing environment, with a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing, personalised support, and positive behaviour. Staff work closely together to promote independence, build confidence and enable pupils to make academic and personal progress at their own pace.
We are looking for a committed SEND Teaching Assistant who can provide 1:1 and small-group support, help deliver tailored learning activities, and build strong relationships with pupils. The successful candidate will be joining a dedicated and supportive team who are passionate about improving outcomes for their students.
The role will involve:

Supporting pupils with additional needs throughout the school day

Helping to deliver planned activities and interventions
-
Working closely with class teachers and pastoral staff

Encouraging engagement, social skills and positive behaviour

Providing emotional reassurance and building trust with learners

Assisting with classroom organisation and lesson preparation
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or SEND – this is essential

Bring patience, resilience and a calm approach

Have strong communication skills and be able to build rapport quickly

Be flexible, proactive and a positive team member

Be passionate about supporting children to achieve their potential
