We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Screening Engagement Officer to support the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP) and Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) for 9 months fixed term or Secondment. This role is ideal for a passionate and driven professional who is committed to improving patient experience, reducing health inequalities, and promoting health through community engagement and collaboration.

Location:
The primary location for this role is Milton Keynes Hospital, with travel required to surrounding areas.
The role will involve assisting the development of the BLMK Diabetic Eye Screening Programme and Buckinghamshire Bowel Cancer Screening Programme that are based across multiple sites. The successful candidate will be required to have excellent communication skills and experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams and able to maintain working and development professional relationships with key stakeholders.

Collaborate with the Bedfordshire, MK Communications Team to support engagement across the Screening programmes and Core Clinical Division.
Build partnerships with local authorities, the BLMK Integrated Care Board and third-sector organisations to address screening
Develop a network of 'screening champions' including patients, healthcare professionals and community leaders using a trusted voices approach to spread the key messages of Screening Programmes.
Organise, deliver and evaluate outreach and engagement events.
Conduct ongoing health equity audits and maintain screening inequalities action plans
Work with the Trust's patient experience team to undertake, analyse and report on patient satisfaction surveys and other experience surveys on an annual basis.
Maintain and develop the BLMK Screening Programmes website and ensure this is kept up to date with any relevant programme updates and/or developments on an ongoing basis.
Collate and present data on patient cohorts, uptake, demand and capacity for screening services.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent IT and communication skills and can work independently as well as in a team and be able to be flexible and work under pressure.

Engagement and Communications
· To engage in new and established engagement strategies and projects to ensure service equality in a wide diversity of patient cohorts, especially those in underserved communities.
· To further develop communications and engagement with seldom heard groups to raise awareness and improve education of the importance of attending your diabetic eye screening appointments.
· To liaise with local authorities, the BLMK Integrated Care Board and third-sector organisations to understand and develop plans to address inequalities in uptake and develop a team of ‘screening champions’ consisting of patients, healthcare staff and local community leaders (trusted voices approach) to spread the key messages of Screening Programmes.
Projects and Events
• Assist (the communications teams) with the development of a new dedicated BLMK Screening Programmes microsite and ensure this is kept up to date with any relevant programme updates and/or developments on an ongoing basis.
• Organise staff events, liaising with external suppliers to organise logistics and working with senior managers to ensure programmes help to deliver Trust objectives.
• To organise, run and evaluate outreach and engagement sessions.
• To devise an outreach and marketing strategy of health promotion and engagement for the diabetic eye screening programme.
Audit, Data and Quality Improvement
• To conduct an ongoing health equity audit and screening inequalities action plan.
• To collaborate with the Trust’s patient experience team to undertake, analyse and report on patient satisfaction surveys and other experience surveys on an annual basis.
• Collating and Presenting data on patient cohorts, uptake, demand and capacity for screening services.
• Routine use of Specialised Screening systems to extract and process data and information.
• Utilising data to produce reports, and being proficient in utilising Microsoft applications.
• Being able to collate data to be presented at national and regional groups as required.
