About Us
Oxfordshire County Council’s Adult Social Care service is dedicated to helping people live independent, fulfilling lives. Our Moving into Adulthood Team work with young people between the ages of 18-25 years old.We work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals and community organisations to create opportunities and build resilience.
We are looking for people who have a genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people transitioning to Adult Social Care in Oxfordshire. It is a fantastic and unique chance to work with young people and their families on a long-term basis which gives Social Workers the opportunity to build rapport and establish really positive relationships with the people they support.
About the Role
This is a rewarding role where you will make a real difference to young people and their families.As a Social Worker in the Moving into Adulthood Team, you will undertake assessments, develop personalised support plans and ensure that individuals have access to the resources they need.You will work within the requirements of key legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and you will champion the principles of safeguarding and equality.Your work will involve liaising with a wide range of professionals and agencies, managing a varied caseload and responding to emergencies when required.You will also contribute to service development, sharing ideas and best practice to improve outcomes for the people we support.
We are a well-established and knowledgeable team.We have a strong culture of supporting our staff to ensure that they have all they need to do their roles to the best of their ability.You will get fantastic support from an experienced group of managers and from colleagues who are always on hand to help from a peer support perspective.
About You
You will hold a recognised Social Work qualification and maintain professional registration.Your experience will include working with young people and their families, undertaking assessments and developing support plans.You will have a sound understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding principles, and you will be skilled in multi-agency working.Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to manage your workload effectively. You will be resilient, adaptable and committed to continuous professional development.Experience of undertaking safeguarding investigations and working with young people with complex needs would be an advantage.
