Crynodeb
To be aware of and practice professional accountability with due regard to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct. To adhere to all Trust policies, procedural guidelines and current legislation. To ensure that the nursing activities within the Ward/Unit reach the required professional standard and encourage staff to do likewise. To ensure that documentation of treatment of individuals is maintained to NMC standards. To carry out risk assessments with the support of a preceptor/mentor/ ward manager. To maintain that the rights and standards set out in the Patients Charter document are met by implementing and monitoring standards taking appropriate action to review any aspects of the service that do not meet safe/satisfactory levels of care and put in place mechanisms for improvement. To maintain an up to date knowledge of the speciality, nursing developments and an awareness of future implications for the Directorate eg PREP, Clinical Supervision, Partnership in Care, etc. To maintain and update registration with the NMC. To discuss and present performance and future needs with the Ward Manager using individual performance review in accordance with the Trust Policy and maintaining own personal records of professional development. To attend meetings as directed and participate and feedback information as appropriate. To ensure that you receive Clinical Supervision on a regular basis from an identified senior member of the nursing team. To maintain patient confidentiality at all times. To work as the named nurse/key worker for a specified group of patients.
