We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in supporting and providing high-quality learning experiences for children with diverse needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, pupils, and specialised professionals to foster an inclusive and nurturing environment. Responsibilities
Support activities and assist teachers in delivering lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
Provide one-to-one assistance to children with autism, disabilities, or behavioural challenges, ensuring they are engaged and supported throughout the session time.
Assist with toddler care routines, including feeding, toileting, and organising age-appropriate activities.
Foster positive communication and social interaction among pupils, encouraging participation and confidence.
Help implement specialised programmes for children with special educational needs (SEN), including behavioural support strategies..
Maintain a clean and organised learning environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with teachers, and external specialists to monitor progress and adapt support strategies as needed.
Qualifications
Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special educational needs (SEN), is highly desirable.
Knowledge of working with people with disabilities or in toddler care settings is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, colleagues, and parents.
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting children's development.
Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic educational environment.
Organised, patient, and adaptable approach to meet the diverse needs of pupils. This position provides an enriching opportunity for individuals passionate about education and child development to contribute positively within an inclusive learning environment.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Self Employed
Pay: £20.00 per hour
Expected hours: up to 8 hours per week, 4 x 2 hour daily sessions from w/c 5-Jan-26
